Triathlon<\/h1>\n

Triathlon hei\u00dft: Schwimmen, Radfahren und Laufen ohne Pause, eine Herausforderung f\u00fcr jeden sportlich aktiven Menschen und alle, die es werden wollen. Merkmal des Triathlons ist das unmittelbare Aufeinanderfolgen der drei unterschiedlichen Disziplinen und der damit verbundenen Umstellung der Muskulatur auf die jeweilige Disziplin. Besonders der Lauf nach dem Radfahren wird dabei als der schwierigste Teil empfunden, da beim Laufen auf die durch das Radfahren bereits erm\u00fcdete Beinmuskulatur zur\u00fcckgegriffen werden muss.<\/p>\n

Im Triathlon unterscheidet man verschiedene Distanzen.
Am bekanntesten ist hier wohl der so genannte \u201eIronman\u201c Die Entstehung dieses Wettkampfs geht auf folgende Gegebenheit zur\u00fcck:
W\u00e4hrend einer Siegerehrung eines Staffellaufes auf Hawaii im Jahr 1978 stellten sich die anwesenden Schwimmer und L\u00e4ufer die Frage, wer die fitteren Athleten sind: Schwimmer oder L\u00e4ufer?
Bei dieser Gelegenheit bemerkte U.S. Navy Commander John Collins, dass beim gro\u00dfartigen Fahrradfahrer Eddy Merckx die gr\u00f6\u00dfte je bei einem Athleten festgestellte Sauerstoffaufnahmef\u00e4higkeit gemessen wurde.
Daher schlug Cdr. Collins vor, drei existierende Rennen auf der Insel zu kombinieren: Den Waikiki Roughwater Swim (2,4 Meilen\/3,86 km), das Around-Oahu Bike Race \u201eRide around the Island\u201c (115 Meilen ) und den Honolulu-Marathon (26,2 Meilen\/42,195 km).
Mit einem Nicken zu einem hiesigen L\u00e4ufer, ber\u00fcchtigt f\u00fcr sein anspruchsvolles Training, sagte Collins
\u201eWhoever finishes first, we\u2019ll call him the Iron Man\u201c.(Wer auch immer als Erster ankommt, wir nennen Ihn: Den Eisen Mann)<\/p>\n

Die heutige Langdistanz betr\u00e4gt:
3,8 km Schwimmen, 180 km Rad fahren und 42,195 km Laufen<\/p>\n

Weitere offizielle Distanzen sind (Schwimmen\/Rad\/Laufen)
Mitteldistanz: 2\/80\/20
Olympische Distanz; 1,5\/40\/10
Kurzdistanz\/Sprint\/Jedermann: 0,75\/20\/5<\/p>\n

Allerdings sei gesagt, dass die Distanzen auch ge\u00e4ndert werden k\u00f6nnen. So das z.B. beim Sprint meistens nur 500 m geschwommen werden.<\/p>\n
